Combining a distinguished career as a pianist with those of composer and writer, Stephen Hough is regarded as a Renaissance man of his time. The first classical pianist to be awarded a MacArthur Fellowship and a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), his mastery of the instrument has earned him a multitude of prestigious awards. Hough is a beloved Aspen performer who has been coming to the AMFS for many years with repertoire ranging from his own compositions to romantic recitals of Chopin/Liszt to Rachmaninoff Concertos.
The Aspen Music Festival and School is pleased to offer a series of virtual concerts created during the pandemic by musicians in the AMFS fold, both alumni and long-time performers.
These beautifully filmed and curated one-hour concerts are free and viewable for three days each from the comfort of your own home.
