Weilerstein Piano and Strings Chamber Music WorkshopBack To Chamber Music...
Members of the Weilerstein Trio, Donald Weilerstein (founding member of the Cleveland Quartet) and Vivian Hornik Weilerstein (director of New England Conservatory’s Professional Piano Trio), will direct a chamber music workshop for piano trios and piano quartets in Half Session II.
Select groups participating in either the Aspen Chamber Music program or the Finckel-Wu Han Chamber Music Studio will be invited to spend the second-session portion of their chamber music studies in the Weilerstein Piano and Strings Chamber Music Workshop. Students can expect to receive one coaching per week and are welcome to observe coachings of the other participating groups. Study will be supplemented with a master class. Groups should be working toward the goal of performing the repertoire coached in the Workshop.
In order to be eligible for selection into the Workshop, pre-existing ensembles and individual instrumentalists should audition for the Aspen Chamber Music program upon arrival in Aspen. Students must be Full Session participants in chamber music studies, and string players can expect to participate in orchestra simultaneously.
