The 2021 season is inaugurated in Aspen fashion with an electrifying new voice, that of the extraordinary pianist Matthew Whitaker. This astounding prodigy, now 20, is thrilling audiences in the jazz and classical worlds with his highly individual approach and virtuosity. One critic noted on his new album it sounds like he is “playing with six hands.” Says he of his music, “What I enjoy best is playing music…I am a musician, who happens to be blind…I have been blessed with a God-given gift and my prayer is that I can continue to be a blessing and inspiration to others.”
