A handsome prince. A cowardly birdcatcher. A kidnapped princess. A queen who may or may not be evil. A high priest who may or may not be evil. And a lustful servant who is evil. What could possibly go right? Mozart’s The Magic Flute is both a charming fairy tale and a deeply mystical exploration of the transcendent power of love. This delightful mix of magic, music and myth includes the Queen of the Night’s aria (used in a famous Volvo ad) and other familiar tunes.

One of today’s top opera conductors, Patrick Summers, leads the orchestra, and Edward Berkeley’s production featuring the spectacular emerging opera talents of the Aspen Opera Theater and VocalARTS program is guaranteed to be full of humor and surprises. Don’t miss this abridged concert version sure to delight audiences of all ages!
