Espen Lilleslåtten Back To Performers
Espen Lilleslåtten is currently associate professor of violin at Louisiana State University and violinist with the Logos String Quartet. He also serves as concertmaster of the Amarillo Symphony and guest concertmaster of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. He served for fifteen years as concertmaster of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. Lilleslåtten began studying the violin at age five with his father, a violist with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. After receiving his Bachelor of Music degree from the Norwegian State Academy of Music, he continued his studies in the U.S., earning his Master of Music degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music under Camilla Wicks and an artist diploma in chamber music and violin performance from the San Francisco Conservatory. Mr. Lilleslåtten has performed chamber music with artists Isaac Stern, Menahem Pressler, Sylvia Rosenberg, Bonnie Hampton, Natalia Gutman, Joshua Bell, and Joel Krosnick, among others. He has also appeared as soloist with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and in recitals at the Bergen International Festival. He performs frequently in a duo with his wife, violinist Renata Arado, premiering the Concerto of Psalms for two violins and orchestra by Dinos Constantinides at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall. During the summers, Mr. Lilleslåtten is a member of the artist-faculty at the Aspen Music Festival and School, where he is also an alumnus.
