Mane Galoyan is an Armenian soprano and a second-year studio artist at Houston Grand Opera. In the 2016–17 season she sang Adina in select performances of Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. She also appeared with the San Antonio Symphony in performances of Mahler’s Fourth Symphony. Last season, she created two roles in HGO world premieres—Margaret Hughes in Carlisle Floyd’s Prince of Players and Lucy in David Hanlon and Stephanie Fleischmann’s After the Storm—and also sang Kitchen Girl in Dvořák’s Rusalka and Forest Bird in Wagner’s Siegfried. Major competitions awards include first prize in HGO’s Eleanor McCollum Competition third prize in the prestigious International Tchaikovsky Competition. This past summer, she sang Smorfiosa in Gassmann’s L’opera seria with Wolf Trap Opera. In the 2017–18 season she will be returning to HGO Studio for a third year. She will sing Violetta in select performances of La traviata and Confidante in Elektra.
