Join AMFS President and CEO Alan Fletcher on a luxury cruise from Lisbon to Amsterdam, stopping along the way for a myriad of exclusive musical, cultural, and artistic experiences.
Imagine a glorious springtime journey that combines some of the most fascinating sites along the Atlantic coast of Europe with the pleasures of private shipboard concerts and recitals performed by a group of world-class musicians. That is precisely what we, in collaboration with the La Jolla Music Society, have designed for this grand ten-day voyage from Portugal to the Netherlands.
Beginning in Lisbon, we sail northward to discover a remarkable array of sites that serve as testaments to the legacy of European civilization, spanning countless centuries from the medieval castles and cathedrals of Portugal and Spain to the American Cemetery and Memorial overlooking the beaches of Normandy. Among the places we visit are four UNESCO World Heritage Sites—Lisbon's Jerónimos Monastery; Coimbra University, one of the oldest in Europe; the great Christian pilgrimage site of Santiago de Compostela; and the storied abbey/fortress of Mont-St.-Michel. To these justly famous monuments, we add the great seafaring and fishing port of Concarneau and the virtual open-air museum that is Bruges.
To witness these iconic monuments would, in itself, be an extraordinary experience. To do so in the company of artists who share their talents and enthusiasm for a variety of musical genres, is an irresistible proposition, especially since the musicians are not aboard only to perform. We can expect to enjoy their company over drinks or dinner and in informal conversation.
Adding to our enjoyment of the experience, the vessel for this extraordinary journey will be the Swan Hellenic Diana, a state-of-the-art, new-generation expedition cruise ship, currently under construction in Finland and due to launch in early 2023. Accommodating only 192 guests in beautifully appointed
staterooms and balcony suites, Diana will feature several lounges, a restaurant, outdoor cafe, spa, library and beauty salon, and will be equipped with the latest safety and environmentally-friendly technology.
We hope you will be able to join us for this truly once-in-a-lifetime voyage, as we explore the eastern shores of the Atlantic Ocean on this compelling Western European Passage.
