Plans for Summer 2021
The AMFS is planning for a spectacular in-person 2021 summer season. We are already deep into recruiting students, booking artists, and reimagining all of our procedures to have a summer that is safe, distanced, and full of live music.
Our open-air Benedict Music Tent and spacious Bucksbaum Campus allow for significant distancing and give us confidence we can teach, rehearse, create, and perform at the highest levels. Some of the procedural changes will mean a different scope and scale, especially for the number of students we can house and audience members we can seat, but we have full plans for meaningful teaching on all instruments, and for daily performances, including orchestral concerts, multiple recitals each week, faculty chamber music, opera presentations, and more.
We will need the support of the full Festival community as we venture in to this new territory. We hope you will join us every way you can. Each activity will be meticulously guided by public health recommendations and managed vigilantly; we have already assembled an internal COVID team and are learning every day from the best practices at peer organizations around the world.
Tickets will go on sale in April. More details will be posted in the spring.
We look forward to being together again around music. Meanwhile, stay safe and stay in touch.
