César Ulloa is chair of the Voice Department at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and in 2014 was awarded the Sarlo Family Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching.

He was head of vocal instructions for the past sixteen years for the San Francisco Opera Center Adler and Merola opera programs.

He was vocal instructor for the Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program of Los Angeles Opera, L’Atelier Lyrique de L’Opéra de Montreal, New Zealand Opera School, and SIVAM, Mexico’s preeminent young artist program.

His professional vocal studio includes singers who perform on the stages of the world’s major opera houses, including the Met Opera, La Scala, San Francisco, Covent Garden, Opéra National de Paris, Vienna, Zurich, and Berlin.

With an international opera career that spans over fifteen years and more than fifty roles, he has sung at the NY City Opera, Metropolitan Opera, L’Opera de Monte-Carlo, Israel Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Cleveland Symphony, Washington National Opera and Canadian Opera.

He has performed under the baton of such prominent conductors as Zubin Mehta, Leonard Slatkin, Seiji Ozawa, Nicola Rescigno, Eduardo Müller and Richard Bonynge.

César is a native of Havana, Cuba.
