Born in 1992 in China, composer and pianist Peng-Peng Gong studied for 12 years at Juilliard and is now composer in residence for the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, having already completed ten symphonies and two piano concertos among many other works. In addition to performing and composing, he is the youngest known scholar of Gustav Mahler. His analysis of Mahler’s works were considered so significant that he was invited to lecture at the National Center of Performing Arts in Beijing.
