Over the course of three decades, Jean-Yves Thibaudet has performed worldwide, recorded more than 50 albums, and built a reputation as one of today’s finest pianists. From the start of his career, he has delighted in music beyond the standard repertoire, from jazz to opera, writing his own transcriptions. 

Bach’s 24 Preludes and Fugues were the model for Debussy’s two books of piano Preludes. Each piece has a descriptive title, but in the score the titles are placed parenthetically at the end of the piece, indicating their relative unimportance.
