LOEWE: My Fair Lady

06

Music by FREDERICK LOEWE
Book and Lyrics by ALAN J. LERNER
Adapted from GEORGE BERNARD SHAW's Play and Gabriel Pascal's Motion Picture PYGMALION

New Symphonic Arrangements by JOHN WILSON, based on the 1964 Motion Picture Arrangements

Join us this summer for the much-anticipated collaboration with Theatre Aspen as we present a special concert performance of My Fair Lady, the beloved classic with music by Frederick Loewe and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. This timeless tale follows Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower seller, as she transforms into a refined lady under the tutelage of the sharp-tongued Professor Henry Higgins. Featuring iconic songs like “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “On the Street Where You Live,” this semi-staged concert brings the sweeping romance and wit of My Fair Lady to life with a stunning cast and orchestra led by Broadway conductor Andy Einhorn. Don’t miss this enchanting evening of musical theater!

Julie Benko (as Eliza Doolittle):
Broadway’s Julie Benko, who skyrocketed to fame in Funny Girl, will star as Eliza Doolittle. A sought-after concert artist and recording star with three albums to her name.

Raúl Esparza (as Professor Henry Higgins):
Tony-nominated in all four acting categories—a rare feat in Broadway history. Known for Company, Taboo, and Speed-the-Plow, as well as his fan-favorite role on Law & Order: SVU and Hulu’s CANDY.

Shuler Hensley (as Alfred P. Doolittle):
Tony and Olivier Award winner, seen in The Music Man, Young Frankenstein, and Oklahoma!. Back in Aspen after dazzling as director and star of Fiddler on the Roof in Concert last summer.

Anne L. Nathan (as Mrs. Pearce):
A beloved Broadway veteran returning to Aspen! Credits include Funny Girl, Once, Sunday in the Park with George, Ragtime, Chicago, Millie, and more. Audiences loved her as Golde in last summer’s Fiddler on the Roof in Concert.

The run time for My Fair Lady is 2 hours and 15 minutes, including intermission.

The Lemonade Stand will be open for this event!
