"With Pinchas Zukerman’s matchless musicianship and charisma at its core, this is a trio made in heaven.,” raved Limelight Magazine. “Their combination of outsized string sound, exciting ensemble precision and compelling interpretation puts them at the head of the Piano Trio division in the Chamber Music Major League,” said the San Diego Union-Tribute.

Opening the program is a short and sweet piece by Sofia Belimova inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and written when she was only 14.

When the notoriously self-critical Brahms presented his Second Piano Trio to his publisher, he wrote, “You have not yet had such a beautiful trio from me and very likely have not published its equal in the last ten years.” Indeed, from its impassioned and heroic first movement through the folk-inspired second movement, stormy scherzo, and wildly celebratory finale, Brahms takes the listener on a dramatic journey full of surprising twists and turns.

Part of a series of pieces inspired by color, Jennifer Higdon’s Pale Yellow is a tribute to Claude Monet.

Beethoven’s final piano trio, dedicated to his patron, friend, and composition student, Archduke Rudolf, is one of the pinnacles of the entire chamber music repertoire. Here is Beethoven at his most noble, spiritual, majestic – and playful.

Experience joyful music-making by three world-class musicians when the Zukerman Trio returns to Harris Concert Hall!
