Kate Vincent

Violist Kate Vincent is originally from Perth, Western Australia. Kate moved to Los Angeles in 2009, where she performs with Los Angeles Opera, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber musician she has been a guest artist on the Dilijan Chamber Music Series, at the Hear Now festival, with the Eclipse Quartet, and on the Monday Evening Concert Series, and has toured throughout Australia, Canada, Germany, Holland, and Russia. Kate has premiered chamber and solo works by Luciano Berio, Lisa Bielawa, Donald Crockett, John Harbison, and Lee Hyla, and recorded for many labels including New World Records, BMOP sound, Tzadik, Oxingale and Steeplechase. In 2019 Ms. Vincent joined the faculty at the Colburn School of Music.

Previously Kate was based in Boston, where she held the position of artistic and executive director of the award-winning Firebird Ensemble. Kate Vincent has served as principal and associate principal violist with several east-coast ensembles, including Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Opera Boston, and Emmanuel Music. Between 2006 and2012, Ms. Vincent was on faculty at the Bard/Longy School of Music, where she served as co-director of the new music ensemble Longitude.
