Myra Huang

Myra Huang, director of musical administration and head coach for the Aspen Opera Theater and VocalARTS program, is a Grammy-nominated pianist and is highly sought after for her interpretation of lieder and art song. Last season she performed throughout the United States, at venues and institutions including Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Aspen Music Festival and School, and the Mostly Mozart Festival. Her recital with tenor Lawrence Brownlee at Carnegie Hall was chosen by WQXR as one of 2018’s best classical recitals of the year, and in 2019 Ms. Huang received the Samuel Sanders Collaborative Artist Award from the Classical Recording Foundation.

Ms. Huang has served on the music staffs of the Washington National Opera, Houston Grand Opera, New York City Opera, and the Palau De Les Arts in Valencia, Spain. She was a staff pianist for the Operalia competition, performing at opera houses around the world including Teatro alla Scala, the Royal Opera House, and Teatro Real. She is on the music staff of the Atkins Program in the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, as well as the Steans Institute at Ravinia. Ms. Huang begins the 2021–22 season as the newly appointed Head of Music for the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera. Ms. Huang is a Steinway Artist.
