Renata Arado, violin, began her musical studies in Chicago at the age of two through the Suzuki method. She continued her studies at the University of Michigan and Rice University, where she studied with Camilla Wicks, and earned her master’s degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a focus on chamber music. Ms. Arado has served as acting concertmaster of the Southwest Florida Symphony and the Gulf Coast Symphony, and has appeared on several occasions as guest concertmaster with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. She was formerly principal second violin of Norway’s Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, where she performed for sixteen years. An accomplished chamber musician, Ms. Arado has appeared internationally and collaborated with distinguished artists including Isaac Stern, Julia Fischer, Robert Mann, Yefim Bronfman, Joshua Bell, Gil Shaham, and Andrew Armstrong. She made her solo debut at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall and has also appeared at Carnegie Hall in recitals. She performs regularly in recital series including the Tribby Arts Center, the Captiva Island Cultural Festival, the Sanibel Music Festival, and the BIG Arts Concert Series on Sanibel, where she currently serves as an artistic council advisor. Ms. Arado is on the artist-faculty of the Aspen Music Festival and School.
