Originally from Porto Alegre, Brazil, Tiago Linck is the newest member of the American Brass Quintet and, with his appointment, will also join the faculties of The Juilliard School and the Aspen Music Festival and School.
Before moving to New York, he was Principal Trumpet of the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra (OSPA) for nearly 15 years, performing as a soloist on multiple occasions, including the world premiere of Gilberto Salvagni’s Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra. With OSPA, he toured and performed in major venues such as Sala São Paulo and the legendary Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
At 17, he was selected for the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, touring South America under Carlos Miguel Prieto and Gustavo Dudamel. A prizewinner in multiple competitions, he won the OSPA Young Soloists Competition twice, placed fourth in the "Théo Charlier" International Trumpet Competition (Belgium), and was awarded Second Prize in the 2024 Sphinx Orchestral Partners Auditions (SOPA) Excerpt Competition.
As an educator, he taught at the OSPA Music School for nine years and has given masterclasses at major festivals and music institutions across Latin America, including the SESC International Music Festival, the São Paulo State Music School (EMESP), the Isla Verde Bronces International Brass Festival, and the Jazz Trumpet Festival in São Paulo.
A graduate of the Conservatoire National à Rayonnement Régional de Nice, where he earned a Diplôme d’Études Musicales awarded with highest distinctions, Tiago moved to New York in 2023 to further his studies with David Krauss, Principal Trumpet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. In February 2025, he was appointed 3rd/Utility Trumpet of the New Jersey Symphony.
Mr. Linck is a Buffet Group performing artist and plays B&S Markneukirchen instruments.
