UNSUK CHIN: Six Piano Études
LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, op. 111
Hailed by The New York Times as “a pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs,” scholar and artist Jeremy Denk brings the 2027 Winter Music Recital Series to a memorable close with a program built for the full range of the piano.
An AMFS alumnus, Denk returns for an evening that pairs Beethoven’s youthful Piano Sonata No. 4 with his profound final sonata, Opus 111, which Denk calls the “most profound musical journeys to infinity ever made.” He also brings to life the extraordinary, long-overlooked work of Hélène de Montgeroult, a forgotten pioneer whose influence shaped the Romantic era. Spanning more than two centuries of musical invention, hear one of today’s most distinctive pianists return to the place where his own musical journey took shape.
