Elizabeth Freimuth is principal horn of the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops orchestras. Before joining the CSO in 2006, Elizabeth had been principal horn of the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and Kansas City Symphony. 

Elizabeth has performed as the featured soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, Butler County Symphony (PA), and many others. She has also performed as a guest principal horn with the New York Philharmonic, and symphonies of Chicago, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Minnesota orchestras, KBS Symphony (Korea), and others.

In the fall of 2025, Liz will begin a full-time position as Horn Professor at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. She has given masterclasses at The New World Symphony in Miami, FL, The Eastman School of Music, Rice University, Beijing Conservatory, San Francisco Conservatory, Carnegie Mellon University, and elsewhere.

During the summer, Elizabeth plays at the Sun Valley Music Festival. For many summers since 2015, she has been a principal horn and teaching faculty member at the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina. Elizabeth is a recipient of the Performer's Certificate of the Eastman School of Music where she was a student of Verne Reynolds and W. Peter Kurau.
