Klein Music Tent

Three volunteer teams are in place during concerts and other AMFS events at the Michael Klein Music Tent.

Ushering for AMFS Concerts All Usher volunteer positions for summer 2025 have been filled

Commitment: Ushers are needed for concerts during the summer season and for our winter music series. Of the shifts available, volunteers select those that best fit their schedules.

Students

There are a variety of ways to meet and interact with AMFS music students. Dates are through June 24 through August 23, 2026.

Become an AMFS Host Family

Commitment: Open a bedroom in your home to a music student for the summer. We will carefully match you with a music student in financial need--your generous act will make their dreams come true. Feel great helping the AMFS and a young person, get to know your student, and enjoy their performances and the music with free tickets or passes and invitations to private events. Learn more here.

Student Dinner Program

Commitment: What student hasn’t longed for a home-cooked meal? Student dinners pair community members with AMFS students, giving the students the chance for a delicious meal in a warm and friendly setting. Students and community members alike love this win-win program. Volunteers can host one or more dinners throughout the Festival season, it's up to you! Click here for more information.

Airport Greeter

Commitment: Volunteer greeters welcome AMFS students as the arrive to the Aspen Pitkin County Airport. Airport Greeters help answer questions, assist with luggage, and direct students to the busses that take them to their on-campus housing site or the Bucksbaum campus. Shifts take place Wednesday, June 24, Thursday, June 25, and Monday, July 27. Volunteer shifts vary and are usually three to six hours in duration.

Special Events

The Advancement Department welcomes volunteers to help in a variety of ways to execute donor-related events each summer. Volunteers help with guest registration, check-in, event set up, and clean up.

Donor Receptions

Commitment: Donor events that take place on the Meadows Campus prior to or following select performances. Volunteers welcome attendees upon arrival and assist with event clean up. Optional TIPS training for volunteers interested in pouring refreshments. Must arrive 30 minutes prior to event start time and remain 30 minutes after event concludes.

Ice Cream Social

Commitment: This is an annual event that takes place on the Karetsky Music Lawn prior to a Sunday performance. Volunteers help serve ice cream and engage with AMFS patrons and community members. Must arrive one hour prior to the event start time through the start of the concert.

Commitment: The Aspen Music Festival and School offers guided tours during the summer season. The schedule varies.
