  • Applicants should submit the financial aid form for access to all funding opportunities.
  • VIDEO audition recordings are required.
  • Applicants interested in a 2nd/E-flat clarinet fellowship must submit the additional 2nd/E-flat clarinet repertoire.
  • Applicants interested in a bass clarinet fellowship must submit the additional bass clarinet repertoire.
  • Students under the age of 18 do not play in orchestra but may take private lessons and participate in chamber music.

ORCHESTRAL OPPORTUNITIES

The Aspen Music Festival and School clarinet department offers the opportunity to play premier assignments alongside artist-faculty from major U.S. orchestras or as principal in a variety of ensembles. Note: It is expected that all clarinet students will share the B-flat, A, E-flat, and bass clarinet responsibilities/opportunities at Aspen. Please bring these instruments if you have one. Auxiliary fellows must bring their own instruments.

All clarinet applicants must submit the required standard clarinet repertoire in a total of 8 INDIVIDUAL VIDEO TRACKS. Each excerpt should be recorded on a separate track. Do not include your name in the video title or description.

  • MENDELSSOHN: A Midsummer Night's Dream, op. 61, Scherzo; m. 1–48
